The individual we are looking for will have extensive knowledge of underwriting systems and federal mortgage standards and regulations. This individual will possess strong analytical skills, be highly organized, and enjoy working in a fast paced environment. Key to success in this role will be the ability to build positive relationships with strategic partners. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must to leverage results in this role.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent Certification or military experience
  • At least 2 years experience in residential mortgage sales originations
  • At least 2 years experience in FNMA/FHLMC/FHA/VA programs and underwriting guidelines, as well as those of other conventional investors, state/local bond programs and private mortgage insurers
  • State MLO License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 2 years experience working in a mortgage banking environment.
  • An existing book of business from external sources.

Note: This position is responsible for performing a variety of loan documentation duties using comprehensive knowledge of policies and procedures for loan products. The position includes processing and compliance for loan products while interpreting policies when analyzing applicant and property documentation. This individual will be held accountable for file quality, velocity and personal goals. This position reports to the Operations Manager.

  • Understanding and implementing all aspects of all loan policies and mortgage regulations
  • Processing residential loan applications, by verifying applicant credit, employment and reserves, and ordering additional documentation to complete loan file
  • Reviewing and analyzing qualifying income documentation, property valuations, assets, credit reports, and title findings
  • Ordering additional documentation to complete loan file
  • Performing data entry and file maintenance on loan system
  • Interacting with customer to clarify and verify information
  • Interacting with third party service providers to obtain required information and documentation

Underwriter

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Overview

Review initial submission of loan files from our branch partners and make loan decision based on company guidelines.

Maintain open communication with branch partners on requirements of the loan approval.

Review of conditions provided by branch partners to issue Clear to Close approval.

Work with the post-closing team on any underwriting requirements for closed files to push them over the finish line.

Ability to underwrite Conventional and FHA loans. Knowledge of VA/USDA and Bond loans are not a requirement; but, also favorable. We are willing to train underwriters that want to expand their knowledge on these products.

Closer

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary:

Throughout the day, a closer is to communicate and coordinate with loan officers, processors and title/escrow companies the information needed to close and fund loans efficiently. Closers also need to produce accurate closing documents in a timely manner to insure that a closing runs smoothly and always be a team player with all departments inside and outside the Corporate office.

Essential Job Functions:

1. CLOSING: Review all information provided for closing is accurate. Input necessary information as required. Must have working knowledge of current TRID requirements in regards to the CD. Work with Title/Escrow for CD approval. Provide initial CD to Borrower to start 3 day clock. Prepare closing documents for loan closing

2. FUNDING: Review documents required for funding. Sign off on all closing conditions. Issue funding number to the title/escrow company.

3. MISCELLANOUS: Help with follow-up to insure that the loan gets purchased in a timely manner. Assist with another closers desk when necessary. Assist with any phone calls regarding closing questions and/or dilemmas. Check and respond to emails regarding closing questions and/or dilemmas. Keep funding log updated with funding dates.

Skills

Experienced with Conventional/FHA/VA and USDA loans. Must possess good organizational skills and be detailed oriented with strong emphasis on accuracy. Good written and verbal communication skills required.

Basic Qualifications

3-5 years residential mortgage closing experience required.
